The apartment, recently renewed, is situated in the little village of Nave a Rovezzano (Bagno a Ripoli area), only 2 Km. from Ponte Vecchio. Part of a typical countryside house, it’s a first floor and has only stairways.

The city of Florence sprawls nearly as far as Bagno a Ripoli. Gradually more and more greenery can be seen growing among the houses until the countryside takes over and is dominated by green fields, olive groves and woodland. The pale shapes of the villas and old farmhouses, the churches and the ancient parish churches appear to be scattered haphazardly over the landscape.

The city is thus transformed into an "urban countryside", though it is impossible to define where the city ends and the countryside begins; it eventually gives shape to an extraordinarily unusual landscape, making the outskirts of Florence quite different from any other city in Europe.
